ML407's 65th Anniversary
«

Hi All,
A message from a very busy Carolyn:
Today was a landmark in the history of The Grace Spitfire ML407 being 65 years since she was taken on charge delivered by Jackie Moggridge to Flying Officer Johnnie Houlton DFC 485 New Zealand Squadron.
I was so pleased to have a short notice booking for ML407 and be flying her today for 45 minutes down to near Denham and return to Duxford on probably one of the best flying days I have flown in for some months.

So, Happy Anniversary ML407! 65 incredible years!

Curses,
Just noticed the 'add 1' bit, that will teach me for replying in a hurry!
The forum will tell them all how old you are anyway:

I just happened to be at Denham when ML407 flew through - i have posted a couple of photos in the photo section. It brightened up a very dull day.
I take it the display was over Breakspear.

I am Johnnie Houlton's oldest daughter - born in England August 1945 and named Jackie after Jackie Moggeridge! I have just watched The Perfect Lady & Going Solo which was I havent seen for years - I found the video in a cupboard in my house. Having seen it again, I wanted the check out what was happening with OUV these days and it was wonderful to find that Carolyn and OUV are still a team. I will be in England for 10 days in June and will try and get a look at her then. Jackie Humphrey (Houlton)
So, Happy Anniversary ML407! 65 incredible years!

Welcome to the message board Jackie! I will make sure I point out this post to Carolyn.
Wonderful to have you here, being connected as you are to OU-V.
p.s. I edited your post to fix the quote section of your message.

Yes welcome Jackie. I think it was probally fated that you should find and watch the videos just before the 65th anniversary of your Father taking
charge of OUV. To quote Carolyn, "a landmark " in the incredible history of this amazing Spitfire.
