Hello Carolyn;
Shame that you couldn't re-enact that special moment due to the ash in the air but as you can see, there are many who wish you and your Spitfire well now and for the future.
Having finally met you and your family last year and many of my fellow supporters here as well, I would like to add my congratulations in keeping ML407 "alive" and flying and my best wishes for the future.
Kindest regards,
Clive from Canada.

(The 25 year flypast. Where did they all go )
Thanks to Carolyn and the team..
Who have kept a special moment of our history flying where she belongs in the air.
And Carolyn her self. Who keeps all the memories and tribute’s to all the ATA girls who in WW2.
Took the same risks, as the frontline pilots when, delivering aircraft to forward bases
From the supply lines round country.
Some of us just see the end result, at the air displays. And not any of the hard work that goes on in the background. Just to keep a Spitfire in the air for even just one display. Never mind all the rest in the year.
In one of Carolyn’s interviews. She talks about there not being enough word in the dictionary to describe her feelings on the day of there first flight of ML407.
And ironically back in the early 1980s another woman being interviewed on the news said that she would have given to see the same look in her husbands eyes, when he looked at her. As when he looked when a Spitfire did a flypast. His other mistress and, one no woman could ever compete with.
She had to live with it or divorce him. As he would never give her up. The Spitfire would always win.
And it’s the same way for me.. My trips to Duxford, is like going to a seedy hotel in the country.
Although I am on my own I have to resist writing in the visitors book Mr and Mrs Spitfire
