I took a few "pictures" of my own - I haven't edited them at all, just cropped them to remove messages from the game, this is from a game called IL-2 Forgotten Battles, combined with the Aces Expansion Pack and Pacific Fighters.

Someone put together a Battle of Britain campaign with Hurricanes called "Hurricane Season" - they had to use an area map from Russia somewhere as the game doesn't have one for the south east of the UK... anyway, I digress.

Here are my pics Smiley

Taking Off:

My favourite: In the thick of it:

Daylight Patrol:

You will be pleased to hear I made it back from all of the missions, albeit once in a dingy and a couple of other times sans engine in a somewhat hairy pair of dead stick landings, Heinkel gunners are a pain it seems.

James, I am very impressed with the simulation.  How do you capture the images from your games?  I especially like the dusk pictures.

Hi,

There is a key that takes a grab of whatever is on the screen at the time. After you have flown the mission it asks if you wish to record the "track" or recording of the flight.

You can then go back and watch it afterwards and view your aircraft from whatever angle you like. WHen flying the mission I have it set so I can only be in the cockpit (you can turn down the settings so you can have external views etc)

People use this track method to make films using this game. If you have DivX (www.divx.com it is a set of files that allow you to watch certain film formats in windows media player etc) installed on your machine and are interested, check out this film about R. J. Mitchell: right click here and select save as

There is a huge community making films like this, fictional action flicks to comedy to serious facts based films about real missions.

Hi James,

Good to find another virtual warbird pilot.

Do you fly as part of an online group?

I'm with this lot? http://www.tangmerepilots.co.uk/

We have a great group of guys who include very talented mission builders who have built some excellent historic campaigns.? We have done the Battle of France, Malta and are currently doing the Normandy campaign.? Our other claim to fame is that we have the guy who did the flyable Mosquito for the game in our group.
