I love ML407!

Hi All.
My wife Hazel and I have just returned home after popping out to watch Carolyn display at Wellington which is just down the road from us. We managed to find somewhere to stop with a clear view and stood and watched Carolyn hold for a few minutes, waving to her each time she came round although she was most likely too high and too busy to see us. After a few minutes of circling we were treated to the sight of Carolyn giving a great show as ever, the broken clouds and evening sunshine breaking through them all adding to the atmosphere of her display, and the sound of the Merlin causing goosebumps as usual. Finally with what seemed like a slight waggle of her wings, we pretended aimed at us, Carolyn and ML407 headed off for Hatfield and their next engagement. I hope the crowd there enjoyed their display as much as we did ours.
Well done Carolyn. it was great to see you this evening!!

Best Wishes

Hatfield was also great - warm weather co-inciding with fairly clear skies too (how remarkable in the UK) - and great to see our favourite spitfire - i just looked on http://www.battleproms.com/ and found a short clip of Carolyn's 2009 display.

Carolyn - do you have a map reading lamp in the cockpit LHS ? - something bright shows up when you are going round the crowd clockwise

Thanks for the feedback, and yes Stuart I do have cockpit lights - original issue of course and they are so clear and bright.  It was overcast on Saturday so to be sure I could see Ts and Ps and altimerter in particular to reach gate heights and the ASI for gate speeds, I had them on for the period.

It was a lovely evening, long may it continue.

ML407 did five displays this last weekend with Richard flying two at Glemhall Suffolk Salute and me the other three Proms.

Carolyn that must of been one of ML407s busiest weekend ever. I saw you display again yesterday over Wellington but this time from further away as I working at the time (shut in my Combine Harvester). On their prom web-site they gave the dates for it as Friday and Saturday so I hope there was someone there to watch your display or had they posted the wrong date? At least I got to see you anyway!!!

Best Wishes

They had booked me for Saturday and Sunday but were not making it public in order for it to be a surprise item.

Hope the combining is going ok and the rain yesterday evening did not mess it up for you.

Thanks Carolyn.

Combining is a bit stop/start at the moment due to the changeable weather but I am really hoping that it will set fine so that we are finished by the beginning of September so that I can come and see you take part in the Battle Of Britain Airshow at Duxford. It looks to be a great show so hopefully I will be free to come, fingers crossed.

Best Wishes
