Hi everyone,
Here are a few of mine from a brilliant day at a packed Duxford on Saturday.

Thanks to everyone at Duxford for a great show and well done to Richard on taking part in the jaw-dropping finale.

Best wishes

Rob

Smiley  Great pic's Rob!  Thanks for posting them.

A really superb show - I had to stop filming the scramble, it was something I just had to see "live" & not through a video camera.

It was one of the few times at an airshow when I've noticed the silence from the crowd.  Everyone was just watching & listening to the sounds and soaking it all in.  Amazing.

The display of the 16 was excellent - never a break in the routine.  Well done to all the pilots, ground support and organisers in making this a great day.

Looking forward to the 75th !!  Grin

Regards, Mike

Amazing photos Shocked

My partner and I really enjoyed the show, I found the formation of the 16 Spitfires incredibly moving and spine tingling.

Rob,
What great shots.  We were there Sunday and the 16 Spitfire finale was superb as was Richard's flying.
I didn't see any sign of a ML407 supporters' stall and even asked the people at the Spitifre Society stall but they
didn't know anything about it.
It's BritAir back to the Pacific Nothwest USA tomorrow.
My best, Mike

Mike, I had forgotten you said you were going or I would have made a point of meeting up with you.

I know, that would have been great. I was wearing my ML407 baseball cap, too  Smiley Smiley.
I was away from the computer a lot before traveling,
but as a US general once said I shall return

Yes, the other three have a second seat, but they look like blisters.  ML407's design doesn't detract from the classic Spitfire Profile while still affording incredible visibility.

The rear seat canopies on the other two-seat Spit trainers are more bulging and not as smoothly blended in to the overall lines as that of ML407.

I've read of it being described as a "Grace canopy" -  was it designed by Nick G.?

Recovered from jet lag but still thinking about the 16-Spitifre finale,

Yes the rear canopy on ML407 was devised by Nick Grace see page 117 of "2nd TAF Spitfire" Two others also used his canopy but believe one of them has since reverted to the Vickers blimp remember the instructor was in the back in them days

Gret picture of a finger four of MKIXTRs probably not seen since Irish Air Corps days
Thanks for sharing
