Hi all!
Well, I suppose it beats the breaker's yards for whatever they could salvage from the Harriers in the way of metal components but there is none so blind as those who will not see. This will come back to bite those responsible one day!
Like our government. They are sitting on a sizable stash of WW II era Browning 9mm pistols. These are highly collectible pistols to collectors and as the Canadian Forces are planning to soon acquire new side arms it's planned to destroy the Brownings as opposed to allowing licenced collectors to buy them. The estimated loss of revenue to Canadian taxpayers? Some 7 million dollars apparently.
I've used them while I was in the service and I think they are an outstanding military pistol even now! 13 shot capacity, fit great in the hand, hard hitting round if the need arises, easy to strip and clean. What else can one say?
Cheers,
Clive from Canada.

Without entering the world of politics they will probably wish they hadn't scrapped them and the sight of the new Nimrods being torn up after spending all that money on them makes you cry. Looks as if we will never ever build anything British again and just buy off the yanks.
Oh come on, you wouldnt want you taxes used sensibly would you? You wouldnt want a polatician to have a hint of common sense, you wouldnt want our ruling classes to learn anything from history would you?
Sadly this once great country of ours is on its knees.............
I sometimes sit and look at 407 and wonder why I do what I do, I look at the Lanc and wonder why... Then I think of my Dad, a fine worldclass engineer, with Rolls Royce and other companies and my uncle Jef who flew Lancasters (71 trips before being shot down returning from Peenemunde - POW) I do what I do so others can remember people like them. Not heros, not great aces or Lords or Sirs of industry, just good, genuine honest people - Thats why I do what I do, and I thank CG for giving me the oppertunity to carry on..
Sorry about the rant and mumblings,
Stevie K

Steve,
Could not agree more, they have sold all the Harriers to the US for a knock down price. We are open for invasion !!!!
We vote them in and they do what they want not what we want them to do.... Damn career politicians
I think it may be time to refit the Hispanos and Brownings !
