Tiger Moth Debut

It was very interesting to watch those outdated  HarrierJets being used quite effectively by US Marines in the Libyan campaign.  There was an 80 mile long trail of destroyed military vehicles on the coast highway.  I know they weren't the only participants but they seem to be the perfect fit for that sort of remote operation with little or no airfield support.

Pretty good for outdated aircraft I'd say! I think the politician's opinions and knowledge was what was outdated, not the Harriers!

This type of operation is right up their alley as they can land on the roadways etc where other aircraft can't.

As for outdated though, you make do with what you have. During the William Tell shoots in Germany with NATO forces, Canadians flying obsolete Voodoos and Starfighters often beat other competing forces who were flying much more modern equipment. It's the skill behind the control stick, not how modern the aircraft is when it comes to hitting the target.

Cheers,
