Just caught this via another thread....

"One person complains about the noise of a Merlin engine disturbing his county side peace to the Suffolk Coastal District Council"  Shocked

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2008014/Plane-stupid-Female-Spitfire-pilot-continue-fly-iconic-aircraft-community-overturned-noise-complaint.html#ixzz1QHxUAUT2

The nerve of some people....  Angry

I'm sorry, but I wasn't even aware of this - or I would have joined the masses and more than voiced my support!!

Regards,
Mike

Mike,
Yes I was aware of the "single person" who complained.....unfortunately these days one has to be sympathetic to anyone who complains.

I am a campanologist and I enjoy waking up the sinners on a Sunday morning...we too suffer these complainers who live near a church with bells....need I say more.

Now if I had a Merlin to wake me up on Sunday morning, quick cup of tea and off to the bell tower !!!!!

I'd love the sound of a Merlin to wake me up every morning!  Bliss! ( for me at least!  Grin )

I've a mate at work who is also a campanologist - but I'll beat you both tomorrow - aiming to be out the door by 5:30am  Grin

Regards,
Mike

Obviously not really well into the senior years as I doubt he would have complained about the RAF/USAAF bombers flying in such numbers they made the ground shake as they left/returned to the UK!

As for the sound of a single Merlin, so rare in the world of today, it's music to so many who endured the war years!

Cheers,
Clive from Canada.
