Old Warden does seem to get more than its fair share of rain, and last nights show was a great example!

With lighting levels so low, it was a very challenging show for photos, and as Steven has already shown on his thread of photos, it was a night for slow shutter speeds.

The bad weather does however have some advantages especially from the exhaust of the Lysander!!

Rain steaming from the Tomtitt?s top wing

Great cloud backdrops

And why not do some gardening Peter?..Old Wardens new grass rake.

Rain can be arty

The Anec provided it?s own candles!

And some other shots

Nice photo's - it was a bit dim last night too but did manage to see the 5 RAF Domini's flying below me following the A1 north after their Falklands flypast - - it would have been a good pic - all still in formation - stuart

Excellent shots Darren! Rain can indeed be arty Smiley

What do you use as a rain cover for your lens?

I just let the lens and camera get wet Shocked

If it gets really bad, then I stick it in a bid liner!

Some interesting shots in the bad weather Darren, still they say every cloud has a silver lining !!
At what altitude are the gliders ?
As for the "grass rake" stick some nylon cord on the prop and you'd have one heck of a strimmer !

Nice shots Darren.? The Lysander exhaust shot is very impressive.

I think my lasting memory of the show will be sheltering under the SVAS photo section tent as the Sea Hurricane flew past in the pouring rain.? I was very impressed by the determination of the organisers and the pilots to put on a display for those who had made the effort to turn up.

The aircraft seem to spent a bit more time than usual getting the engines warmed up (I presume to clear out the damp) which as you say gave the opportunity for some slower shutter speed shots.? I also managed to get a few longer distance shots that caught the sky colour.

By the way, a work colleague showed me your article in Photography Monthly giving away a few more of your trade secrets!? I wasn't as brave as you in getting my camera wet so it went in the carrier bag as soon as the rain started!

Anyway, enough waffling, here are my efforts.
