Hello there!

What a wonderful Bank Holiday Monday I had! Just happened to take the family for some walking around Bourton and these villages, heard some music, turned up at the village fete, bumped into Gordon Mitchell, so quickly cadged a signature on the latest edition of his book on RJ, and then heard about your impending display................I've been quite a few times to Duxford in recent years, watching many Spits in action, but there is something quintessentially British about a solitary, very aesthetic, Spitfire displaying in the skies above one of our more scenic villages, with the only sound the growl of that engine!

Wonderful stuff, much enjoyed, and many thanks. A memorable day indeed (we completed the walk later in the afternoon!).

Best wishes

Philip

Have to agree with all of the above.  Carolyn put on a marvellous display which really was a joy to watch for everyone.  I have to say that the flying was all the more enjoyable because it wasn't part of an organised display - it makes one proud to be British(!)....I can only hope that the departure of the helicopter half way through the display didn't pose any risk ?

Thank you for your comments I am sure Carolyn will add something.

All of us in the Supporters group are proud to help in any way we can to keep this aircraft where it belongs so it can be enjoyed by everyone.

It is not an easy task as you may guess with lots of hard work by Carolyn and her crew but well worth it as you have seen.

Gordon Mitchell is one of our Supporters and I also had the honour of meeting him and having a long chat a couple of years back at our Annual Gathering.

If you wish to become a supporter then please do, you will be most welcome, we are not a bad bunch....really!

Regards
Andy Day
