Rabbit Leader to Cowslip Control

« on: January 28, 2008, 07:55:41 PM »

Dear All,
I had to go to Kings Lynn this morning (Customer visit) so I popped into Duxford for my first visit of 2008 on the way back after lunch.
The sun did shine and I popped into hanger 2 for a look around and had a long chat with Henry who was "paint removing".

The Gladiator is coming together nicely and the Mk18 Spit had lots of activity and may fly in the not too distant future...lots of winter maintenance going on.

Through the doors to the north side to see ML407 looking resplendent with covers on and a Cassutt too....

Alas nothing flying so my Merlin infusion will have to wait.

Visited the shop and purchased the Haynes Spitfire manual which I will be happy to lend to Steve and Richard !!!!!!   Ok Ok

Roll on 2008
Regards
Andy

Hi Everyone
Do like the new category "Banter from the Mess " Good idea James.
Good to know that The Gatemaster has already led the advance party to DX for 2008....someone has to set an example !
I hope to be going this Saturday for their "Special Intrest " day on the British Bomber. One of the speakers is Michael Bowyer ,who will be known to many of you as one of our greatest aviation historical authors. Never been on one of these before...but will report back.(Details available on IWM website )
Don't despair , summer is on the way !! (Nearly bought a new BBQ yesterday )
Cheers
Dave.

On my visit last week to Duxford, ML407 was out and luckily I caught two engine runs before she was put away again. Surely it cant be long now before she takes to the skies?
