The 2008 Flying Proms at Old Warden was blessed by some quite exceptional weather! For what must be the third year in a row, the liquid was flowing from both the bottles and skies!

In true British fashion – the supporters donned their waterproofs and dug out the brollies to make sure that the weather didn’t spoil the fun.

The Collection’s pilot put on a spirited display considering the conditions, so thank you to all the pilots, ground crew, engineers, organisers and the orchestra for putting on a great show. Unfortunately the weather prevented any external visitors in the flying programme from getting to Old Warden so alas Carolyn was unable to display.

DEspite all this, Helen (+bump), Becky, James and I had a great time (although James and I did drink a lot of beer which helped!).

Darren, your pictures are fabulous.  I was very moved by all of them, but especially those that show a rain-soaked bunch of Brits having the time of their lives.  Where else but in Britain would the weather just be an incidental happening.  Must have something to do with making the best of a bad situation and reminiscent of the BOB and very disheartening times.
